Budget projector system with portable screen?

Is this doable for under $1000? I want to mimic the movie theater experience at home for DVD and BR playback because my 42" plasma TV is way too "small" and won't cut it. It looks like a toy in comparison. I'm looking for something that can be easily put away when not in use because I don't have a dedicated home theater room and therefore the portable screen is a must. I could care less about the sound because I'll be playing old art house movies with mono soundtracks anyway (Criterion Collection, etc.). Any suggestions? Thanks!
