RE: Blu Ray and 1080i

I think I can say that you will see a difference but only you can say whether that difference is enough to justify the cost. I've got a 32" 1366 x 768 LCD TV which only accepts 1080i input and I see a difference which makes me very happy I've got BD.

The quickest way for you to get an idea is simply to compare a standard def TV broadcast with a 1080i high def broadcast. That should show you the sort of difference in picture quality you can expect. Alternatively, if you know someone with a BD player, ask them to bring it and a few discs over and simply try it out.

The other difference with BD is the lossless audi formats which give noticeably better sound to my ears.
