Check out the doom9.net site and spend some time reading the material there. There are several programs which will do what you want and can be downloaded for free.

DVD Decrypter is still one of the best out there. Teamed up with DVD Shrink (which doesn't have to be used in "shrink" mode), you can't go wrong. The only problem it has is with some newer discs which use a protection scheme that was developed a few years after DVD Decrypter stopped being updated. For those discs, there are newer programs.
