Problems with blue ray audio

Greetings all,
I posted this in DVD-A as well....
I just set up a plasma tv and am running a sony blue bdp bx1 blue ray and a sientific atlanta cable box. I am using 2 channel stereo for now, with my Marantz 2325 receiver and Pioneer HPM 100 speakers. If I manually hook up the individual audio sources to the marantz (audio out to tape 2 in, via rca cables) I get great sound, no problems. However,my problem is that:
1) I can't mute or lower the stereo volume without manually adjusting the Marantz(a huge deal with loud tv commercials)
2) When I tried a Radio shack av switch box so as not to run 2 cables to the receiver, as I only had 1 input left open to use, I get a very audible buzz in the blue ray audio.
Any suggestions for a remote controlled switch box with either volume or on/off capabilities?
