Home Video Asylum

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

The same but different.

Also an audiophile for many years, but also like movies/HT.
My system is set up to sound it's absolute best for music, for movies I let the chips fall where they may (and they fall just fine :)). I will pump up the volume on the sub for some flicks, but otherwise all is OK as is.
As for the video portion I do my best to make the picture look as good as possible. Green grass should like like green grass. If it's a bit exaggerated do I care, not really too too much. So in that sense I'm similar, yes. I'm also much less concerned about that exacting quality however. To me good enough is good enough with the video portion. My X1 PJ is long of tooth, but with a BD player looks just fine to my eyes. I'll spend a lot of money on my 2 channels yet before I upgrade the PJ (unless the bulb dies, then I'll go HD).
