DVD to TV......Excuse my stupidity......

No Picture!!

I'm simply trying the hook up a DVD/VHS Recorder/Player to my TV. No cable box, nothing special. Hook up R/W/Y cable line out from DVD to input on tv. What the heck am I doing wrong here? I tried different cables w/ same results.
