Definitely not limited to 60Hz, but I don't remember what each Kuro model can do...I'm sure you can find it.

The model I have only goes up to 72Hz (3x24Hz, for 24fps film mode). 120Hz is nice because it's 2x60Hz and 5x24Hz, as is any multiple of 120Hz but this is more common with LCDs.

A high refresh rate is not nearly as important for plasma as for LCD; in LCDs it helps reduce motion artifacts. But it wouldn't hurt for plasmas either, though 600Hz seems awfully unnecessarily high.
