Speaking of Romans... I used to love this one as a kid, believe it originally aired in UK around 70-71. [As Canadians living in England, we couldn't believe the stuff they showed on TV there.]

that's where I found the 6 episode sampler on vhs, anyway perhaps you can register for them to alert you about certain releases (they are really the kindest folk you can imagine)

I'll check them out. I don't have good VHS capability here anyway, besides the PAL problem. I wouldn't mind even if the DVD video quality wasn't that great, say as good as the Fawlty Towers transfers.
Aah yes! Have you seen "Further up Pompei" by the way, 20 years later and superb as well (eew, how common, I hear some of them say, yes indeed..., so bloody what, huh?), I've got that one on vhs, let me do a quick search for dvd and come back.
