Blockbusters has been supremely disappointing for about 5 years now, ever since dvd's became popular. It has always been a nessessary evil...but I can't even shop there anymore. They are a perfect example of a company that went haywire with diversification.SAME SIZE STORE, that used to only RENT videos (maybe sell a few previewed once and a while) NOW RENTS and SELLS all major game machine cartridges, videos, dvd's, and sells toys, candy, and other crap. You can only find the MOST popular movies there, nothing more, and forget about foreign films. We have to buy everything we want to see off the internet.
Is it the same in tother areas?

Follow Ups:
Absolutely fantastic. HUGE selection of flicks delivered right to my door, keep 'em as long as I want, then mail 'em back. It's like all the people who have Tivo...once you start using it, you can never imagine doing with out it.

Netflix charges you $19.95 (plus tax in some states, I believe) every month even if you don't rent a single movie! Their selection is NOT complete, and their "recommendations" are pretty haphazard; they have promo deals with some studios and not others. Still, their selection is better than any local store is likely to have (unless you live in NY or LA) and it IS convenient.

I usually rent at a "Movie Gallery" nearby. Much better selection, many more foreign films. Although their inclusion of "Abbot and Costello Meet the Mummy" in the Classics section is a bit disconcerting....
So why should'nt it be in the classics section???Never have like Blockbuster. Always used the independents.
