"Girl on the Bridge" Daniel Auteuil sparkles in this strange film, and his partner Vanessa Paradis (I don't recall seeing her before) is quite convincing too.It is not your average movie, it is almost a fairy tale, but powerful in its naivite. It pulled me in and kept interested - not a small feat. The director Patrice Leconte, the creator of The Widow of Saint-Pierre, is worth noting, with style gentle but memorable. The sensual atmosphere in the film is so sick in spots you can cut it with a knife... knife? Did I say "knife"? There are quite a few in that film.
Definitely worth seeing.

...the Widow is far more conventional, albeit good, and the Girl is more strikingly interesting... I think. Interesting, since the Widow was made later.

conventional, yes. It seems French films take you into the characters themselves rather than the story, unlike Brit or Yank films. Why is it that only French actresses can look into the camera and melt it down?

Don´t hate me, ask yourself why do you like this....
The only one Leconte ever almost made right ...Was Le Parfum D´Yvonne...
Salut.

***Don´t hate me,Sorry Patrick, I do hate you. Sitting there like a bug in a rug...
So - what did Yvonne smell like?

Eroticement parlant...L´erotisme...
But only the first part as the film lost itself, more and more to become a boring illogical nightmare for the viewers.

I think you should rent the Girl - you will love it, as the character depth is even more significant there.
