  'Chicago' isn't a musical in the traditional sense, i.e., the characters don't suddenly burst into song (a la Sound of Music or My Fair Lady) but rather the musical numbers are fantasy pieces cleverly interwoven with the 'real' action. It's all very, very well done and it makes for a terrific movie. Well deserving of the accolades it's been receiving.

    I don't like musical either, but this was one of the best films I saw in 2002.

    The musical portion is weaved "alongside" the main story. REALLY a good film.
