I had previously avoided this one, since it was written and directed by a guy (Mike Judge) whose resume consisted only of "Beavis and Butthead". My mistake-this is an often hiliarious comedy, and Judge has perfectly captured the minutiae and drudgery of the modern cubicule dwelling wretch, toiling away under 8 different supervisors.
Love the final revenge on the terminally malfunctioning fax machine!"Politicians are interested in people. Not that this is a virtue. Fleas are interested in dogs".

movie...I didn't expect it either.on bbc america, thurs. 10:40 is The Office. It is absolutely one of the funniest, understated office sitcoms ever. You have to play it loud because, true to form, the actors speak softly, like you find in many offices. The manager is full of himself and bafoonish.
It also airs on sundays. It is just a little more subtle than the movie, but just as funny. I have seen about five episodes and haven't been dissapointed yet.mp

Yeah, that would be great.

There is some really funny stuff in this. I went to high school with Gary Cole, who played the manager.

We've let a few people go, so we kinda need to play catchup.

This was a mid-eighties HBO flick that was the forerunner of Office Space. It was an executive-level farce about corporate backstabbing and hijinks. The first 45 minutes were great--then it got silly. Still, worth a shot.

I thought it was pretty funny when I saw it back in the 80's. It's probably one of those that if I watched it now, I'd be dissapointed (like Murder by Death).Gotta love any movie that has Jane Seymour in her underwear, though!
