Variety reports that Jim Carrey will star in a film adaptation of the classic television series, "The Six Million Dollar Man," for Dimension Films. The film will be directed by Todd Phillips ("Road Trip," "Old School"). Phillips will also co-write the script with Scot Armstrong. This ought to be interesting.

Follow Ups:
I'm 35, so I grew up watching the bionic man. I can’t help but think about what the movie might be like. With all the special effects around and considering the movie might have a decent budget, it might be interesting (just as long as Jim Carrey isn't Mr. Ace Ventura with bionics) If he is than its going painful to watch. From what I have seen, Jim Carrey has done a couple movies that are a little more of base than the One Note style he seems to over use. I'm sure the producers and director realize this, so I'm curious what the demeanor of this new and strange character will be.

I don't know what other people think, but I cannot stand Jim Carrey, He in my opinion is a one trick pony doing the same thing over and over.

Why do they have to keep recyclying this garbage? Especially bad TV shows from the 70s which should stay buried deep in our memories, or at least relegated to late night TV reruns...(end of rant)

when the studios were consolidated and bought up by megamedia corporations. And when film distribution became a closed system. But, in the end, the public gets the films it deserves. I predict that there will be lines for the opening of this turd.

we are doomed to repeat the past. Someone might as well launch the "I Love Lucy" franchise or "Hart To Hart". In this country we are lost.

Hart to Hart? Please, no...Jesus, this really opens the lid on my ability to conceive of rerun-derived films.
The Love Boat, fer instance, seems not at all far fetched.
Knight Rider.
