Since many critics are comparing "The Missing" to this John Ford/John Wayne classic, I decided to watch it again, Although I have NEVER seen this in print, it's been a long time theory of mine that the Natalie Wood character is not Ethan's niece but his DAUGHTER, the result of a pre-war affair with his brother's wife.Consider: 1) Wayne's initial mixup of the girls, 2) those long, loving stares bewteen Wayne and his sister-in-law, 3) the kissing of Wayne's jacket by the aforesaid sister-in-law, 4)Wayne's obsession with finding Wood is better justified if she is a daughter, and, 5) Wayne's ultimate epiphany in not killing Wood.
Your thoughts?
Happy Thankssgiving to all in the USA, and best to the rest, Rico

is that the source for "The Searchers"?BTW, Blanchette is so damned good. Tommy Lee is Tommy Lee. The story is good--I would say it is a great action western. Not for Dom guzzlers.
