I had, uh, missed it when the thing came out, but as a four-day-only roadshow I figured I should catch it. Want my opinion? I had a much better time at The Last Samurai. I share the Boston Globe reviewer's opinion of the one that opens tomorrow:"Clearly, the man strides through Tolkien's world with great joy. Yet what I felt when the lights came up at the end of this visionary, titanic, relentless experience was something different: a strange relief that it was, at last, over."
For myself it's already over, I don't think I could endure another three hours of static, unhuman moviemaking. Even the attempts at humor were unremittingly feeble. Who cares whether these creeps live or die? Not I.
Nor was I impressed with the CGI.

Follow Ups:
Glad it's finally over. Wonder about Sam's true feelings for Frodo. Maybe Sam is just the world's greatest best friend. Thought the spider action a tad too intense for the average frothing-to-see-it six year old.
I have no idea what that Two Tower is and have no intention of really finding out - is this the number #2 or #3? But my question is: did you see the previous one (again, whatever that number was)? If so - then what did you expect? I saw short parts of #1 and #2, and either one pretty much produced the reaction you describe. So - did the previous one make you want to see this (I presume the TT is not the first one, so correct me if I am wrong), or did you go there as a complete virgin?
Me... I found my fortunately short experiences with #1, 2 among the most boring ever.
BTW - I remember you sitting in the same row on the first demo of the digital Empire "# Whatever" - and I heard someone in your area stomping with joy, yelling and laughing, and generally having good time. Wasn't that you by any chance?

-----> Want my opinion? <-----In a word, no.
Say Clark, why don't you just stick to copying and pasting copyrighted stories from other sites.... it's the one thing you're good at.

;^DBTW, the attached URL was sent to me earlier today and I posted it over on the Outside Asylum board for grins. Since it's related to the Ring trilogy m'thinks folks over here might enjoy playing around with it as well; it's very clever & quite a hoot, if you ask me! :o)
