Not bad. A small project with marquee actors. I didn't see the original and if I knew it was a remake I wouldn't have watched this one, but Pacino didn't scream, so that was good.
Did't Robin Williams play the same role in "Photomat[?]" ?3 out of 5 for the effort and one viewing is enough, imo. But not BAD. Some camera shots were interesting.

but the plot was just not compelling in either case. Still feel Williams did a better job in 1HR--a little too much cutesy came through during Insomnia.
Solid movie. Pacino and Williams were remarkably subued and composed. Williams was truly creepy in this. I'd like to see him do more of this type of thing. Insomnia was a much better movie than 1HP.Pacino's remorse over accidentally killing his partner on purpose was very well handled.
I'd like to catch the original someday.
I have both and the first one is the better but I agree that this one is not bad. I also agree that thr Robin Williams characters in this and "One Hour Photo" are quite similar.
..and some people here badly slammed the remake...Pacino didn't scream? But I am sure he still gestured like there is no tomorrow - no?
I taped it - just for you.
I probably won't see the original because of the plot spoilers in this version. Pacino didn't roll anything. It was in minor tones and subdued.
