Picked up the DVD of this a few days ago and just finished viewing it last night. Wow! What a great movie - I was totally engaged for the entire thing. I don't think I've seen this one since I saw it in the theater. Or maybe I'm just enjoying one of the fringe benefits of aging - complete memory loss of events from years gone by :-)
What a great cast in GGGR: Al Pacino, Jack Lemon, Alec Baldwin, Kevin Spacy, Ed Harris etc. It was nice to see Pacino before he started doing that strange monotone/yelling thing that he does in all his current roles. (What is the deal with that anyway? Has he lost his hearing or something? I find it to be really annoying.) Anyway I thought that GGGR had some great acting, a great plot and terrific timing. Even though many of the scenes were without a lot of physical action, I didn't find the movie to slow down or drag at all.

I wish there were more movies of this quality, Great script(originally a B.W, play of course)and terrific ensemble acting. I want more.

He was great. His best work seems to revolve around being bad.

  He has honed this aspect to a fare thee well in the recent "The Cooler".
