Opened today in Dallas/Ft Worth area, saw it at 10:35am in the morning . . .Not bad, but not good either--merely lifeless. Seemed the picture was real dark, not figuratively, but literally.
The soundtrack lack distinctiveness--sounded like borrowings from several others. One reviewer said Orlando Bloom stole the movie from Ledger. But there is nothing to steal . . . very forgettable.
Just as opinion, as always . . . hope others enjoy it.
Follow Ups:
and was eminently forgettable as well, shame as Ned Kelly is the great Ozzie folk hero and deserves better, his story is a rattling good yarn, mateI recommend Peckinpahs Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid for a fanciful take on that theme, this has Bob Dylan in it (I will refrain from using the word "stars", the only Star is James Coburn)
Now PG+BTK has entertaining dialog by the spadeful and is pretty dark as well, Soundtrack has "Knocking on Heavens Door"Grins
Slim Pickens has a cameo at the end of The Getaway when he drives a pickup truck across the Mexican border (outro to the strains of a Toots Thielmans tune, no less)
Kristofferson is in the AWFUL Convoy, and gets shot dead by Warren Oates in Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia; which is not at all a bad thing
