I never got around to seeing this one at the theatre last year. Now that's it out on video, should I rent it? I have done a search on the archives and read a few other on-line reviews - seems like people are all over the map on this one. Anyone really fond of this movie & if so, why?BTW did any of the actors win any awards for 21 Grams? Not that it would encourage/discourage me from renting, just curious.
Follow Ups:
All over the map - yes I can see why. It took me a while to get into the movie if I'm being honest...But for what it's worth it was better than Mystic River and so was Penn's performance. It's very herky jerky in its stroy telling process as if they chopped the film into little bits and put it all together in any old order. Frankly it could have been told in a few flashbacks or alternate time lines alla Pulp Fiction. If you can sit through this style and stick with it it's a rewarding movie - largely an actor's movie.
It's an ineresting story of the way fate works and our need to know our place in life...subtle not preachy...but the style gets in the way a bit, rather than helping.

"Amores Perros."
Benecio and Penn AND Naomi Watts. If you enjoy modern actors (Vic need not apply),you'll very much enjoy this film.

I haven't seen it yet either, and if it is indeed available I will rent it.Just rent and see what's all that noise about.
Heck, a medium popcorn at your multiplex is probably $6 today!
