This tradioally anaimated feature came out several years ago and is now on DVD. It is a surprisingly moving story of a giant robot who lands in mid-fifties coastal Maine and is befriended by a boy who is fatherless. The government gets involved with predictable results.
Kind of an "ET" meets "Day the Earth Stood Still", it holds up to multiple viewings.

I saw that trailer in the theater a couple of times last Fall but I didn't connect it with the maker of TIG. Thanks.

You sure it's the same guy that did Iron Giant? The Incredibles is Pixar CGI and IG was cell animation . . .
He also worked on The Simpsons .

I wish they'd make "Iron Giant 2" (hell they make sequels for everything else). I liked what Harry Connick Jr. did in it.
