I don't expect to see a better movie this year. Unlike you, I thought Vol. 1 had all the usual cliches, while Vol. 2 broke new ground, going deeper into cause and effect than any of the films Vol. 1 paid homage to. Can't wait for Vol. 3: Zatoichi (blind Elle) and the One-Armed Boxer (Sophie) vs. Lone Wolf and Cub (Beatrice and B.B.).

I just thought v 1.0 was a mindless tribute to martial arts. v 2.0 actually gave us a taste of character development. I appreciated the history of what caused this great act of revenge. Plenty of laughs as well. I was actually surprised when she walked in on the "family".Tarrantino's genius, to me, is not creativity but the amazing talent to copy styles and themes into his own format. He is a cut and paster of the highest caliber. What else should we expect from a movie rental geek?
Of course, nobody pulls together a soundtrack like him--his true talent.

I don't think that Vol. 2 broke any new ground. It's very bad Sergio Leone. It's also very pretentious. And the dialogue stinks beyond belief - it seems to have been written by a 14 year old.Almost nothing works in this film, not even the music.
Tarantino was God to me. Now he's just another director with a huge ego and nothing left to say.
