Early 60's rock revival show. I remember the Stones, I think
James Brown and a Cape Cod group called the Barbarians. Has
anyone got information on this show? Is it available? If so,
please email me at marktespot@hotmail.com
Thanks
Mark

Follow Ups:
I saw that in the theatre with my sister back then, I remember it was a special weekend only show.
An edited version (with abysmal inserted intros of each artist by Chuck Berry)with both TAMI & TNT is available under the title
"That Was Rock". I bought the vhs back in 1985, but I believe it is
available on DVD now.

THE T.A.M.I. SHOW 1965
U.S. film. Hosted by Jan and Dean. Chuck Berry, James Brown, Rolling Stones, The Supremes, Gerry and The Pacemakers, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Marvin Gaye with the Blossoms, Lesley Gore, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, The Barbarians and others. Teenage Terri Garr is a go-go dancer. Classic 60s rock and roll!

It was the first concert simulcast to movie theaters. I bought a VHS copy (probably pirated since it's out of print) on Amazon.com or through a Google search (I don't recall) last year for about $25. It contains the "TNT Show" as well. The interesting thing is that the last part of James Brown's performance in TAMI - where he passes out and has to be revived a couple of times - was cut from the tape because he upstaged the headliners, The Rolling Stones. A great time capsule.
Regards,
Mike

Released in 1964. Featuring: The Rolling Stones, Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas, James Brown, Chuck Berry, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, Gerry & the Pacemakers, Lesley Gore, Jan and Dean, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, the Beach Boys (cut from most prints), Dusty Springfield, and more. With a bill like that it had to be a great show and it was! It was followed, in 1966, by "The Big T.N.T. Show" which featured some other top acts. How about Ike and Tina Turner, Bo Diddley, Joan Baez, the Lovin' Spoonful, Roger Miller, the Ronettes, and Ray Charles? Not too bad! It wasn't killer like "The T.A.M.I. Show" but nearly so.
All I remember is how great Dusty Springfield sounded...and how hot she looked. So, I do remember the show...sorry I couldn't be more help.
I remember the TAMI Show very well! The best part was the last 30 minutes or so...first, the Stones with a sizzling set that I believe ended with "Around and Around." After that, the Hardest Working Man in Show Business! And did James Brown put on a show! His set concluded with the "cape routine" during "Please Please Please." If you don't know what I'm talking about, WOW!, what a treat you are in for when you see it!
That is, IF you see it. TAMI Show was available on 2 vhs tapes in the mid-80s, but has been out of print for years. Haven't heard of any plans to re-release on DVD lately.
Sorry I can't be of more help. If you hear anything, let us know!
