I could never understand all the hoopla around that lame and boring show. But be it as it may, it was popular. What can I say - if America was a bit less preoccupied with sports and shows like Friends, and a bit more with education and science, we would be in a far better shape, we would not have our kids score below all developed countries, and some developing ones.
Do I blame Friends for all that? Hardly, but its "success" is highly indicative of the problems in this society.
Several bad actors kept the nation riveted with the help of a lame script... much to be proud of.
So I don't know whether to cry or celebrate. Truth is their departure will mean little - it will be replaced by another such show, with just as much of following.
Easy to get into bad mood over all this...

And talk about overwhelming hype over the last episodes! Made me wanna barf!As for the show - not nearly as good as "Seinfeld" or even "Everybody Loves Raymond", which jumped the shark, IMO, a couple seasons ago. "Friends" did that three or four seasons ago.
"What can I say - if America was a bit less preoccupied with sports and shows like Friends, and a bit more with education and science, we would be in a far better shape, we would not have our kids score below all developed countries, and some developing ones."It's called decadence, and it won't stop until one of those other countries displaces the U.S. as the economic power center of the world. And when that happens, they'll inevitably end up sitting on their fat asses watching the same bad TV. All in due course. Until then, no use shooting the messenger.

It makes you feel younger. That's what this country is about. Rotate the crop, get a leisure suit, chains, and get with the party you wild and crazy guy.

Leasure suit sounds good, though! That and the zoot suit (sp?).
