With that in mind, I would like to mention here an interesting statement by Andrey Tarkovsky, in the chapter of his book devoted to Luis Bunuel. Tarkovsky had deep admiration for Spanish director.
Says he:
"Bunuel has enough artistic sense, to avoid falling into the trap of political pathos, something that is never appropriate, when stated directly in works of art"

  Didn't see 400 Blows. You recommend it? I did see the others and thought them excellent, important movies.
  I guess I can take the time to look up 400 Blows on Amazon. Thanks.

I suspect an artist like Arthur Miller would disagree with him. I would tend to side with Arthur Miller. It seems silly to limmit the scope of artists this way.
