I saw this 1980 South African film over 20 years ago and had remembered it as being funny but had forgotten just HOW funny and how much of the humor is pure slapstick, never letting up. The DVD is anamorphic and heightens the action and the transfer is pretty good. There is an underlying current of ever so gentle and subtle commentary on the human condition, as well.
The DVD includes extras and a sequel, all of which pale in comparison with the movie itself.

It was recommended to me by a friend of mine and it was very entertaining. As you said though, the sequel was not all there.
