  "Where's Poppa". 1970 black comedy that could literally have you rolling in the floor. Viscerally funny companion to "Harold and Maude".

  Carl Reiner, George Segal, Ruth Gordan, Ron Liebman, Trish Van Devere.

  Probably could not be made in today's PC atmosphere. A grown-up film about race, scatology, attempted murder, rape, dementia, etc. An absolutely tasty film displaying elevated degrees of tastelessness.

  Brilliant, fearless performances by Segal and Gordon.

  I thought the film very funny, but be forewarned...just gotta be a new record for "f bombs" and crude/rude/lewd humor...

  I also thought Something About Mary was very funny, in the same vein. The "zipper"scene was a classic, imo.

  Blazing Saddles was just re-released in a special edition. Club Dread is a recently released comedy from the Broken Lizard crew whose humor is an acquired taste. Waterworld is stupid and funny for all the wrong reasons. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is about as stupid as they come although there are some clever in-jokes for ViewAskew fans.

  If you want subtlety, then none beats the Clueless - it sizzles!

  If you just want dumb, then well, Dumb and Dumber is hard to bet. Not impossible, but hard.
