Have both Laserdisc and dvd players, and want to see Eraserhead. I know I can get it on LD off of Epay, can get the dvd version from Lynch himself, besides getting it autographed, (Which may be worth the inflated price) wonder which version has better quality?

Follow Ups:
Suit yourself. They're both a bit grainy. I think Laser's Edge had some DVDs at a bargain price at their website. (I saw them in-store.)Me, I opted for the autographed version from Lynch's website, mainly because I'm a Lynch fan.

not just on price alone; Eraserhead isn't going to benefit much from 5.1 surround sound; the background industrial/train noises that run almost all the way through this film, the sound of pencils falling from the sky and babys wailing are way good enough in 2-channel(!)
Visually; if you can A-B the DVD with the LD and get a tiny fraction more detail out of this monochrome fuzz with the DVD then all power to you; if the DVD has a "making of" or some form of commentary track it will no doubt be best avoided....Grins

I don't know, but the first time I saw that was with Naked Lunch. I think I was numb for a week afterwards.
