Well I reread what I write about this film, and after being haunted by it since I saw him, I feel that I may not have enough put weight on the extraordinary beauty of this film.
And fail to notice the influence of Chaplin, who shines through and through.
Before you die, this is a must.

I did see it a long time ago and bought it but I don't remember how good it was. Need to drag out the tape player.I have a special feeling towards his film "Miracle in Milan". I love that unusual film.
There is a very interesting film by Kurosawa about an aging bureaucrat with cancer. Don't know the name of it. Unlike "Umberto D", more of it is embedded in my psyche.
Both Directors shares the same class.And humanity.
