In Reply to: "What to Do in Case of Fire?" I dunno, and I don't care, but I am not connecting with modern German cinema posted by Victor Khomenko on February 23, 2005 at 19:26:11:
You mean you don't like Rammstein?! Heck, I like Mozart and still find a few hours in my life for a good Rammstein session now and again! Anyway, I don't know what you thought of "Run, Lola, Run" but I found it to be a pleasant surprise. Also a thoroughly modern German film. I like to watch it in the German language best even though I don't speak it. My wife hates subtitles, but I have to say that it makes some movies to keep them in their native language. When my buddy first brough over the movie and was talking about how cool it was, I was looking at the title and groaning after seeing the previews. I thought, great - a movie about a chick running through town...

Follow Ups:
I thought Lola was boring in near extreme. I made through it once, albeit with some effort, and would never watch it again.Calling it grossly over-rated would be a classical understatement.
BTW - my only familiarity with Rammstein is from watching some Russian MTV.

but I was impressed with the numerous alternate endings and the use of various camera types for 1st person, 3rd person, etc. perspective. The charachters were common and the whole thing was stupid, but I still thought it was a cheap thrill.
You should demo some of your gear on the main floor at the next CES using Rammstein. The passive, subtlety should be enough to persuade more than a few I-Pod toting/hocking geeks to visit or at least lunge for the volume control. ;-)

Yuk Patrick; I don't think most Germans would like being "stereotyped" as neo nazis just because they like or play heavy metal. I have always thought Rammstein to be tongue-in-cheek, not supporting past hatreds. They rank right up there with Spinal Tap in my book of "Campy" metal gods.

Are you talking to yourself?Rammstein is know to have had pro-Nazi text and a little more. That is explain in the link I put on.
More unclear?
rather the link that you provided. I don't speak German but I have read some translations of a few songs and didn't find that to be the case. I don't find that ideology amusing or glamorous in any fashion. I may be ignorant on my Rammstein "anthology" themes, but I don't think either one of us is stupid.

Case closed.
As I said they were pro-Nazi in their begining. That is a fact. And this I donīt like, but donīt like at all.
And nothing against music.
Not at all.
