JLo is a former waitress who spends most of the film running from her sadistic rich husband and his hired thugs. She is aided by former co-workers, a substitute father, a former boyfriend, and eventually by her real father, who provides money (lots of it) and toward the end martial arts training. In case we can't follow what is going on, cute title cards pop up every so ften to tell us what is coming next. JLo is traveling with her 4 year old daughter and they hit Seattle, San Francisco, northern Michigan, and San Francisco once again before the climactic showdown with hubby back in L.A. Similar to, but not as good as, "Sleeping with the Enemy".
Juliet Lewis plays one of the co-workers. Many improbable turns of events.
