Oscar-winning actress Teresa Wright has died at 86.Her credits include: MRS. MINIVER (best supporting actress Oscar - 1942)
BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES - (best picture Oscar - 1946)
THE MEN (Marlon Brando's screen debut -1950).Teresa Wright was one helluva fine actress. Her three Oscar nominations and one win attest to that. She had a winsome yet naturalistic appeal that appealed to movie audiences. To my tastes she was one of the greatest actresses of her generation and an extremely beautiful woman, in the girl-next-door mold.
She will be missed.
Follow Ups:
Another fine film people may have seen is Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt. She is on screen almost the entire film. But my favorite perfomance is the already mentioned Best Years of Our Lives. Everyone is superb in that film.
