You like action? Martial arts? Don't want to be inundated with bushel's of subtitles, historical periods, or a lot of plot? More importantly--do you want to laugh and have fun? Well, I gotta a movie for you . . .I laughed and even howled on occasion. This is Looney Tunes for the martial arts and is done so well I may get a keeper copy. The martial arts SFX were superb and every imaginable combination was used. There is a plot that evolves (whoops) as the movie progresses. The story takes place in a slum the Axe gang wants to take over--only to be thwarted by the most unlikely of Kung Fu masters residing their to get over their pasts. The Axe gang tries and fails and resorts to busting out the "Beast" who faces our heroes in a battle royal.
Chow put a lot of money in this one. The production is class A in all facets and wil not disappoint as an afternoon's good time.
Follow Ups:
even for my fun-loving tastes. Would have liked a bit more toned-down computer graphics and more storyline involving the blind girl. Just IMHO...

skilled Tarantino is, by comparison.
KB is art, this is great craftsmanship.
The plot twists were clever enough to hold my interest, but enough with the seven or eight 4-minute invincible-warrior-kung-fu stuff, already.

Nothing deep but man do these guys know some good moves. I like that all the masters except the last one are middle-aged and out of shape. The humor is broad, but it is funny. I like how the Beast broke "every bone and tendon" in the guy's body and it got his chi flowing again. I don't know if I'd buy this, but it was a good day at the movies.

Yes, its a fun movie. Its a totally over-the-top slapstick comedy. If you liked Shaolin Soccer, you'll love this. The Disc is nice too. Well made.
