It held a promise, with Jean Reno and Juliett Binoche, but how quickly things fall apart when there is nothing to hold them together!Granted, I had to watch a horribly dubbed version on cable, with what sounded like a wooden Julia Roberts voice behind the screen, but I tried to see through it, and there wasn't much there.
A complete disappointment.

But riders are supposed to lose weight, not gain it...right? Ahh but what a way to go.

I probably fall more on Patrick's side of things on this one. Not perfect, somewhat contrived, but I like both performers, and liked both their performances. Binoche is usually acts more from the inside, leaving the viewer to interpret her mannerism, facial expressions, etc. Here she was more demonstrative in her acting. I liked the change. Reno was his usual dependable self.One thing that I would disagree with Patrick is that I felt this movie to be more of a typical American film rather than a French film. I think French films tend to be less contrived that American films, particularly when it involves members of the opposite sex meeting, and carrying on.
Well being realistic the > French films from now look more like than the American one, now more than never...
You know most of the French directors always looked to the US films and their directors as their heroes.

I thought her breasts were saggy and droopy. Until we resolve THAT conflict there can be no agreement!No, I did not enjoy it one bit. Maybe not enough wine that night?
I am getting old....Maybe...Binoche breasts...I never look to them...No I see her more as an intellectual actress...
But to come back to the film, I was not very enchanted by it, it was, well typical to what the French are doing now. It may have worsened because of the translation.
But there was not much to say. I completely have forget it in the mean time.
