5 Academy Award nominations? Seriously? Not since Lost in Translation has a movie been so boring.

Follow Ups:
But I didn't because:
1 - I have this strange habit of watching a movie to its end no matter what.
2 - My wife was enjoying it.
It wasn't horrible, but I did find it boring. I think maybe this just seemed like a regular weekend of my youth to some degree. Go out and get drunk, go to parties, meet people, whatever. So what? Also, watching somebody else do wine touring/tasting didn't interest me. I love wine, but I like what I like, couldn't care less what some movie portrayed as good wine. To each their own.

Totally overrated. I did like the scene where the guy was retrieving his wallet though. That was quite funny.

AND a nude car chase scene (really).

It starts out slow, then starts picking up. Here's what happens:WARNING SPOILERS!!!!!!
So Miles and Jack are off for the bachelor weekend. They drink a bunch of wine. They hook up with some cute waitresses and Jack proceeds to have a rather noisy affair with one. Miles is trying to hook up with the other but he's emotionally retarded since his divorce and doesn't know how to act around women. Eventually they hook up, Jack says he's going to run off with his cute waitress, then gets beaten up by her when he tells her about his impending marriage. Miles finds out his ex is getting remarried and has a meltdown. Jack sleeps with another waitress just 'cause he can and ends up running out naked when her husband shows up. They artfully retrieve Jack's wallet from her house, wreck Miles' cool antique Saab to explain why Jack is all beaten up, return to Jack's wedding, then Miles has another meltdown when invited to his ex's wedding. Finally he ends up driving back out to Nappa and the movie ends with him at the cute waitress' doorstep.
Of course it's more complicated than that, but a good movie nonetheless. You missed some really funny parts.

..funny how films like Magnolia & Sideways (films that point a little deeper than Hollywood schmuck tends too) virulently split the amercian public.

Not really, but I kept hoping. I didn't care for the movie either.
