Need your assistance on Metropolis. Please go to:
www.persocom.com.br/brasilia/metropo.htm to give you some background info. Crux of the matter is that I like the Moroder soundtrack vis-a-vis the original soundtrack, but am not especially fond of the color tinting, preferring B&W instead*. May have to compromise and settle for the Moroder version of Metropolis because that original soundtrack really irritates me compared to my mild dislike of the
color tinting. What is your take? ~AH*Have seen both King Kong-1933 & Mighty Joe Young-1949 in original B&W and both in color tinting, and do not care for the latter.

it is entirely possible that AH's irritation of original ST and VK's assertion that it works for himself can both co-exist peacefully. LOL! ~AH

mean in both a non-rancorous and non-contradictory way, given that
you have marked tendencies to carry combative, condescending chips on your shoulder.
And if you have a problem with that, I suggest you do some deep
reassessments of your psychoemotional processes. IOW, you need to seriously consider
GROWING UP in certain respects. You are much too old to being carrying
around those kind of pugnacious attitudes. I consider myself being civil and
polite here. I could have been nasty and sarcastic and intially
quipped, "OK Daddy, should I then keep the f*cking sound up then,
in spite of my irritation, just cause you dictate it 'works'. But
I consider myself above that sort of thing. ~AH

The original symphonic score is awesome and exhilerating; I've never been fond of synthesizers and Wurlitzer organ scores; piano is just okay, as long as it isn't tinny sounding. A chamber orchestra is usually excellent and a full symphonic score is the creme d'le creme.I haven't heard the Moroder version, but I'm not fond of rock lyrics being introduced in period films, regardless of how good the music is, and I'm a big-time rock music fan.
At any rate, as much as I hate to admit it, patrick is correct on this; the approach he suggested is probably the best one to take.
Why donīt you just buy the original B&W version and turn the sound down! Better than this horrible tinted version!
And if you like the Moroder version of the music ( which BTW I really dislike,,,) you can buy the sound track separately!

In fact the first time I heard it I found it quite...How should I say...Nice.
The second time I just...Hate it.

I'm not particularly head-over-heels about his ST, just relative vis-a-vis the original score. Per your suggestion, I would probably not buy the Moroder ST separately, but would just turn down sound. FWIW, I would have preferred a syncronized ST with maybe Kraftwerk, Gary Numan, Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd, Tomita, et al, than the Moroder selections. ~AH

The funny thing about the colorized "King Kong" is that Kong himself remains in black and white!
