I DO like her. Yes, cold, but good kild of cold, and I would forgive her many transgressions just for her role in Discrete Charm...I agree on comparisson with Hitch... even though I am not a Hitch fan, Chabrol just doesn't raise to that level. So in some small sense - yes, there are visible parallels, but only as a pupil who failed many a test.

I honestly can't even guess how it will play to a Westerner not intimate with the details of Russian history, and with the apparently less than perfect subs, but I truly believe this is one of the movies that does present an interesting stop on your journey, something worth discussing - so outside the "norm" it is. It also won several international awards.
