THis is a Japanese Samurai film concerning ways to be honourable within a rigid social structure.
Our hero necomes more and more disillusioned with life within his clan and eventually leaves. The film finishes with him heading for a distant island to start a new life.
I don't want to say too much about the plot lines as that may spoil it for others, but this is a very good down beat film.
No special effects, very human.

Not trying to be too picky here but maybe, in that case, you should refrain from telling us how it ends or warn us beforehand.:-)

If you see the film, the emding is quite predictable, just very well done.I don't think it would spoil it at all.
I hope not, as the film is well worth seeing.
I'll try and see it. It's not on Netflix but there's an excellent eclectic video store near by that should have it. Also the Twilight Samuri is well worth seeing.

If you enjoy the "Hidden Blade" I think you may also like the "Twilight Samurai". Yamada Yoji had good success with "Twilight" and "Hidden Blade" is the follow-on. I think "Twilight Samurai" is a better production, it fell easily into one of my favorites.W
