  Visually, I thought the distractingly obvious CG effects took a lot away from the "shock factor."

  But a masterpiece of film-making nonetheless . You should also see the prequel "House Of A Thousand Corpses"..:)

  They say Quentin Tarrantino's 'Hostel' is another similar masterpiece, should be out on dvd soon.

      I agree with you on the chicken purchase sequence..I really laughed my head off ! The dialogue AND the acting were to die for ! I think it was meant as comic relief before the final disturbing climax..
