This is the second asassination film involving Frank Sinatra, the other being "The Manchurian Candidate". In this one, Sinatra arrives in the town of Suddenly with two henchmen and commandeers a house overlooking a railroad station where the President is scheduled to stop later that day. Sterling Haden, the local police chief is wounded in the takeover and is a prisoner along with the widow he loves and her young son and father-in-law. In the meantime the Secret Service has the station covered. Sub plots involve the widow's relutance to get ninvolved with Haden and also her absolute hatred of guns and violence. A taut thriller, well done. Shot in black and whiite in a 1.66: 1 aspect ratio.
