This is a lower budget effort by Luc Besson that takes us into the very near future in Paris where the most sleazy district of the city has been walled of from the rest of the city. Can you saw "Escape From Paree"?It involves a major gang, a district dweller who likes it there, his kidnapped sister, a cop with a stainless steel spine, and a neutron bomb set to kill everything within.
The choreography and physical stunts were some of the best I've seen. The fights and shoot outs were impressive to the point of erasing the plot and actors. Plus, it was fun to see occidentals moving with the precision of Asian martial arts masters.
Follow Ups:
In the future, I hope that some director provides Tony Jaa with better material. Though the plots and characters in both Ong-Bak and The Protector are laughable, Jaa performs some incredible stunts. For more on David Belle of District B13, watch some of the videos at the link below!
