The man who understood women
Where Akira Kurosawa filmed action and emotion through Hollywood filters and the great Yasujiro Ozu rained humanism on everything he touched, Mizoguchi -- the third of classic Japanese cinema's "big three" -- used historic epochs and neighborhood locales as settings for his eternal subject: the agony and ecstasy of womanhood.
Mostly agony, though.

Still fuming, huh (pun intended)?
Clark, your little inDIGnationS are really quite amusing; you do realize that, don't you? :o)

Clark was engaging in a bit of unsolicited sardony in his first riposte (Johnsen waxing, so to speak) that was over the top since he was posting what amounted to a festival notice rather than a critical endorsement or denouncement of a film he hadn't seen. The butt-bank is merely a visual icon representing Clark's below the belt 2 'scents' worth.
As for the "his post was angry, personal and totally dumb" part, you'll need to put some new elastic in your Napoleonic tutu if you want to make the facts fit your stretched definition. ;^)
