No doubt my favorite score from a western.I'm very fond of this movie and enjoy it every time I see it. Wish I had seen it on the "big" screen.

Fantastic music and sonics-an absolute 10. They aren't kidding about the gunshot warnings, either!

That opening with the cattle herd sounds used to drive our dogs nuts...they'd run behind the speakers to catch 'em.

I so agree. I found myself singing along: "It's so big, it's so huge, it's so large, it's real gi-gantic; so im-mense, enor-mous,
its pro-potions, make me frantic" (etc.)Score by Jeromw moross, who, besides movies, did a lot of TV work.

a good actor before this?
And was there ever a slimier weasel than that portrayed by Chuck (Rifleman) Connors?

Yes, and of note prior to "TBC" he was in "East of Eden", "Desire Under the Elms" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". After he was in "...Epitaph" as I mention above plus a lot of important TV drama work. But still, a lot of people remember him as a folk singer.
