I was so taken with this Directors films I visited Poland in 2000 and went to many of the locations where he filmed
My hotel in Gdansk overlooked a river; there was a U-Boat visible at low tide, still lying there scuttled at the end of WW2; that had been built at the Gdansk shipyards 50 years earlier
And still damage from that War could be easilly seen in Poland
Krakow was the best city, if y'get the chance, go!Grins
