Sort of an anti-Clueless, thinking girl film.
Why do they keep showing these not-ugly girls angry and in anguish that they can't find the right guy, or any guy for that matter? It it really that bad?
Some shunned the ending, I thought the ending could've been a few minutes earlier when she was looking at the high-voltage lines.
Another peeve was that I thought they could've expanded a bit on the controversial art poster, but I guess it was insignificant and typical enough not to use as a crutch. Very good casting and not a drag at all. A definite date ice-breaker:)
Once again, this is a very good film, and...I like young girls.:)
Follow Ups:
...is an entirely new creation in theatre, and watching Buscemi play -- or rather underplay -- it is worth the price of admission. Not only that, director Terry Zwigoff manages to undermine the prevailing concept of politically-correct in a number of devious ways, not unlike his hero R. Crumb. The plotline that begins with the *very* un-PC Coons Chicken poster is a rare delight.
As an old-78s collector, I found myself and my sensibilities for the first time treated fairly and not satirized for the sake of pandering to a liberal, "progressive" audience that likes its jokes easy and stereotypical.

...is one of my all-time guilty pleasures. She was simply incredible there, oh-so-clueless... This was really the only good role by Alicia, unfortunately, but even just one good role is more than what we can say about many "actors".
You really should watch it. As I understand from several posts, you have a daugther, believe me, it's a very good film for you especially. Your wife will enjoy it too. Try to score last row seats.:))
Hello Victor
Check out 'The Crush' with Alicia , her first film I think.
One of my favorite lines in 'Clueless' is when the dad states to
her boyfriend "I've got a 45 and a shovel, no one's gonna miss you"
been tempted to use that one myself on some of the boys hanging
around my daughters.

30 years ago when I was 17, I was sneaking into my girlfriend's bedroom window (she was 15) at 2 AM and having my way with her (or maybe it was the other way around). Anyway, her father burst into the room one night (luckily we had already done the deed and were just lying there on the bed ). I scrambled out the window with just my pants in hand and ran for my life.A couple of days later I called to speak to the girl and her father recognized my voice on the phone and told me "Son, I will not have you crapping in my nest. Good-bye." and hung up the phone. This has been floating around in my head ever since.
