Hey All,I have been pondering upgrading my Denon AVR 4800. ive thought of the Denon AVR 5803, ive thought of the B&K 307, and ive thought of using the 4800 as a Pre/Pro and getting a seperate amp. Do you guys think upgrading to the 5803 or the B&K 307 would be a big enough improvement to justify the $? what seperate amp would you guys recomend? id like to stay under $3000.

The 4800 is a nice receiver. I'm planning to pick up the soon to be introduced Spectron 5-6 channel amp. At 450-500wpc this amp will provide plenty of punch during peaks, will stay cool during operation, and quiet. A relative bargain at its asking price,
the Denon will then serve as my processor, and switching device.Jack
