I am shopping for a new TV and have been looking at and trying to research Flat Screen TVs most likely a 24 or 27" (due to my space and budget restraints). I have seen lots of good reviews for the Sony Wegas, and then some very Bad reviews. In the bad reviews I've seen stuff about the geometry problems, pink lines forming on the screen, fuzzy edges etc. Are these problems just with the Sony's or on all Flat Screens? In searching thru your site I saw a frequent poster named "Sysinfo" say to simply stay away from Flat Tube TVs. Does he know something everyone else is missing out on? Has anyone owned one of these for more than a few months? Is it still performing well? Is it worth the extra money or should I just buy a regular tube TV? I'll be hooking it up to a DVD, VCR, Digital Cable & home stereo. What are the ups and downs of these flat screen TVs? Please don't advise Plasma or HDTV--I can't afford it, I just need some good sense advise.

Follow Ups:
Just to repeat what I said before. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FLAT PICTURE TUBE !!!! It does not exist and it never will. The more tube is curved, the better is geometry and viewing angle. Everyone who knows how tube works, knows that it MUST be curved. And tube that you see as flat, is all but flat.
Only flat screens are LCD and plasma, and maybe some other space-technology that I didn't see yet. But flat tube is just as possible as flat Earth.
RPTV should have curved screen as well, but that creates too much of an engineering chalange to make such hard, translucent material, and still to be flexable when your kid hits a head, so it was given up, and geometry and focus suck in RPTV.
All projectors require curver projecting screen, but we don't have them. They suck too.
Like I said, if you want it flat it must be either direct view LCD or plasma.

Your right, but you forgot to mention that the BACK side of the tube, (closest to the guns) are curved.

Best TV I've ever owned. It's the middle of the three 27" models...I forget the number.

Since 1999. Works great! Beautifull picture. No problems with it what so ever running from a TOshiba progressive scan DVD player. Hooked up with componant cables.

I not only have a Sony Wega, (and a High Definition to boot) but I have owned it since '99. Guess what? I am NOT a fan of Sony Audio, but I *AM* a fan of this tv! ZERO problems since bought, and everything working the way it should since new.
