I just recently received my Denon AVR-2802. Man that thing's complicated compared to my old SS amp. ANyway, when playing a standard music CD on a DVD player, is the sound supposed to emanate from all the speakers, or just the 2 front?

Follow Ups:
If you select mode Dolby Prologic II, (I use it for most CDs, Choose Music for CDs, tunner and VHS, and movie for TV or DVDs stereo), you get all speakers...If you want stereo choose mode Stereo to keep bass management, (if you have a subwoofer), and Direct if you jaust want the front speakers with the least processing...

The beauty is that YOU decide how many speakers to listen to.
I would say 99 % of the time you should listen to your cds in stereo and preferably in direct mode.
You owe to yourself to RTFM.(read the f*****g manual!!)
This will ensure maximum entertainment from the system you paid good money for!

Thank you for your reply. I never thought of reading the manual - novel concept."In order to keep an open mind, I am trying to avoid learning anything."
