I have a number of music performance dvd or documentaries that has the audio part delayed by a fraction of a second. Is there any receiver or av controller that has the function of conpensating for this? Thanks.

Do you have a Sony DVP ? They are notorious for lip-sync problems. this may be the beginning of your problems. AR has extensive posts on the subject

My dvd player is a Pioneer DV333(?). In generall most movies don't have this problem, only on musical dvd's and documentaries do I feel this. So I suspect it's a software problem. I just wonder if any receiver/surround processor can compensate for that.

I found this on more and more DVDs. Got no clue what the heck it is.
Did anyone look at this DVDs before they put it on market?
