I'm looking to buy a flatscreen television. Are the 27 in. Apex and/or the 27 in. Advent worth spending any money on? Which is one is better? If neither are a good brand, which should I go with on flatscreen tv's 24-27 in.?

Follow Ups:
and see what the "knock-offs" are missing. Often they are missing the comb filters that the Sonys, Toshibas, etc all have. So the lower priced sets look "ass-tacular" (opposite of spectacular) when fed anything other than a component DVD signal (or maybe high quality s-vid). The tube may be the same as the name brands, but the supporting electronics are not up to snuff (e.g., combing problem). And it shows. I would generally avoid them. But it's up to you. You get what you pay for.

Depends on your budget. I don't think the Apex's are all that great, and I'm not that familiar with the Advent. I don't know what your budget is, or if the TV is to be incorporated into a small HT system, but for general guidelines, stick with Panasonic, Toshiba, JVC, and maybe Sony. The monitor should have a 3 line comb filter, S-VHS and composite video connections for VCR's and DVD players, and audio out so you can connect to an external amp and speakers. You shouldn't have to spend more than about $500 (unless it's a 16:9 monitor, then the costs go up).
