Hi, I'm a newbe so I hope someone here can give me some advice.Tired of the constant buzzing caused by the TV's RF, coming out of my centre speaker I decided to replace my Samsung flat screen TV.
So, last Saturday I bought a new Sony, KV-27FS100 TV. Got it home and discovered it had geometry problems. The bottom right side of the screen angled down so the scroll bars on the news channels dove to the bottom as the scrolled to the right side of the picture. Back at Best Buys I showed the defect to the salesmen and sure enough all the Sonys had the same problem. So I traded the Sony for the Toshiba, 27AF42.
Got the Toshiba home and after about 2 hours or running I noticed a kind of hum or buzzing in my apartment. A check on all things electronic and I traced it down to the new TV. A check on the web and it seems to a defect several owners have found.
I am now at a loss. I called Toshiba customer assistance and was told they have no way of tracking the problem and all I can do is keep trying till I find one that works. The Toshiba has a much better picture than the Sony, but it doesn't buzz.
Can anybody here point me in the right direction? Is there another manufacturer I could try? The sales people at Best Buys are understand the problems and are willing to work with me to find a working unit.
Thanks in advance.

Saw your question re the geometry problem which I found addressed by the review below I found on audioreview.com. I was searching for problems with this model b/c I just purchased one and I'm not at all happy with the picture quality. The VCR is not working, either, even though everything is hooked up correctly and the remote has been programmed. SONY wasn't able to help me with the problem. I was thinking of the JVC but my friend had sound and picture problems with her 36" model, which had to be replaced twice.

Product Model Year:
2002Summary:
I bought and use both the Sony kv-27FS100 and the Toshiba 27AF42 for a few weeks and decided to keep the Sony for the following reason:* Sony - looks like has more viewing area.
* 16X9 mode in Sony is very good, looks like a HDTV from some DVD movie.
* No geometry problem, just remember to adjust the tilt -2 if you don't see the ticker symbol straight.
* Sony has a flatter screen than the Toshiba. If you look closely at toshiba from the side you will a see a dark shadow on that end that leaves me to believe that it's not really flat from end to end.
* Sony- Brighter
* Sony- you can make adjustment on all the picture settings(vivid, sports, etc), you can only adjust one setting in the Toshiba(memory) the rest are factory set.
* Sony - ability to turn off SVM.
* Toshiba - smoother local tv viewing, no scanning lines. I was told that sSny focuses so good that it shows the scanning line from local channel.
* Toshiba - quiter degaussing mode.
